Woman killed by live-in partner, body found in forest after 10 months

A 35-year-old woman in a live-in relationship was murdered by her partner in Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district, who then buried her body in a nearby forest. The crime remained hidden for 10 months until the accused confessed, leading police to the site where her skeletal remains were recovered.
The victim, identified as Seema Pando, had been living with her partner Chandrika Prasad Rajwade in their village. She was reported missing by her father after her sudden disappearance, and a complaint was filed at the Khadgawan Police Station.
Police suspected Chandrika and detained him for questioning. During interrogation, he confessed to killing Seema and burying her body in the forest, reportedly over suspicions of an illicit relationship.
Adding another layer of mystery, Seema’s father, Sohr Lal Pando, who had filed the missing person’s report, has also been missing for the past seven months.
The police have sent the recovered skeleton for post-mortem examination to confirm the identity and cause of death.
The Pando community, recognized as the “adopted children of the President,” is now under the spotlight as multiple disappearances have raised concerns.
